SHE MATTERS COMMUNITY SERVICE AWARD RENAMED TO
HONOR COMMUNITY SERVICE ADVOCATE

Baltimore, MD - The She Matters Community Service Award has been renamed to honor the legacy of Elizabeth C. Savage (1940-2010). The Community Service Award will be known as the Elizabeth C. Savage Community Service Award.

Ms. Savage has been an active supporter of providing service to your community, as well as promoting the success of youth. Through her example she has inspired others to pursue, commit, and provide dedicated service to our communities. She Matters is honored to bestow this recognition upon Ms. Savage and continue her legacy.

3rd ANNUAL GIRLS' EMPOWERMENT CONFERENCE & EXPO
She Matters: PROMOTES SUCCESS OF YOUNG GIRLS


Baltimore, MD - The 3rd annual She Matters Conference & Expo will be held at New Town High School in Owings Mills on Saturday, May 15, 2010 from 9:30 am to 5:30 pm.

The 2010 conference keynote speaker will be Maryland’s former Lieutenant Governor, Kathleen Kennedy Townsend. The conference will also feature many notable workshop presenters, speakers and special guest, national comedian, Meshelle.

The mission of the conference is to empower every girl between the ages of 9 and 17 to embrace life, pursue her dreams and fulfill her destiny. The young ladies will be enlightened, empowered and educated through workshops, vendor/exhibitors, performances and a day full of networking and fun.

This fun, education-filled day will include an awards ceremony honoring young women who have succeeded in the areas of Academics, Athleticism, Entrepreneurial Spirit, Community Service, and overall Achievement. Registration fees will increase after March 31st so participants are encouraged to take advantage of early sign-up. This event is being hosted by A Step Closer Foundation, Inc. and Universal Impact, LLC. A portion of the proceeds will be used to benefit children in foster care.
